Established in 1998, Just Care, Inc. operates the only privately owned prison hospital in the U.S. Just Care’s flagship facility, the Columbia Care Center in Columbia, SC provides 374 beds for patients who are sick and must be under correctional care. Every patient at Columbia Care Center is considered “special needs” receiving treatment for conditions such as AIDS, cancer, cardiac disease, dialysis, life support and mental health. Just Care serves county, state and federal law enforcement agencies and mental health organizations throughout the U. S.

Shortly before Columbia Care Center opened, a partnership was formed with Rock of Ages Ministries including a request to provide full-time missionary chaplains who would be able to present the Gospel to every patient and give them the opportunity to receive Jesus Christ. Along with providing regular Bible studies, church services and counseling, the missionary chaplain involves local church volunteers who are vital in assisting in the effort to spread the Gospel. Since 1998, an average of 1 out of every 5 Just Care patients has been saved. Jesus said, “…I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.” - Matthew 25:36
