News From Prison |

“Let me share with you the blessing that I received. I was November 18, and I was holding a service at a local prison that houses 1,800 inmates. We had about 100 men in the gymnasium, and after the service I had a young man approach me and started to thank me. He said ‘You don’t know me, but three months ago you were asked by a family member of mine to send me some material. I want to thank you for sending it and for all you do in here. I received the Bible Institute information and the other reading material and it has made a difference in my life.’ We stood there and talked for 10 to 15 minutes and he hugged my neck and thanked me again and said, ‘See you next Tuesday, preacher!’ On the next Saturday morning, November 22, I was called by a church member that wanted my help. He stated that a family member had died in a local prison and wanted prayer for the family. When I asked for the person’s name, to my surprise, it was the same young man that I had talked to on Tuesday. I informed them that he gave me a clear assurance of salvation and that he was a student in our Bible Institute. I also told them that on Tuesday night he was sitting on the front row with his Bible praising the Lord! The family found great comfort in knowing that even in prison somebody cared.” Missionaries Jim and Carol Jones
